Horizon group collection for the St Helens Food Bank

The businessmen and ladies of the Horizon Business Group based at Thatto Heath Crusaders St Helens have come together to collect and purchase Xmas Items and donated the same to the Food Bank in St Helens based at the Hope Centre Atherton Street St Helens.

Mike Ashall Chairman of the Group commented “As local business people here in St Helens we felt it was fitting that we came together to help those who need it most in our community especially at Christmas. I have been and visited the Foodbank and discussed the amazing work that they are doing. People imagine that this is being handed out to the homeless in our town but there are too many families who for many reasons are struggling financially across the borough”

Mike is pictured above with fellow members with their recent collection. It is never too late to donate and collection points have been set up at Thatto Heath Crusaders Rugby Club and Taberns Property Consultants 75 Corporation Street if people would like to continue to donate.

Details of the required products to donate can be found at www.sthelens.foodbank.org.uk or by calling 01744 26414.

Members of the Horizon Group who meet each Thursday am at Close Street St Helens will be offering their services to the foodbank to assist with logistics leading up to the Xmas holiday.
